About this policy

This policy covers tokeat.com and every restaurant ordering website run on Tokeat, which are operated by RK Technology Group Limited. Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser; websites can also store information in your browser’s local storage and session storage. We call all of these “cookies” below.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

Strictly necessary cookies

These make the site work, and the law allows them without asking you first because the service you asked for cannot work without them. They:

  • keep you signed in, and protect signing in and changing your details from forgery;
  • remember your basket at each restaurant, and the table you scanned a QR code at;
  • carry you through checkout and through entering a verification code;
  • remember a search, where you had scrolled to, or what you had typed into a form, so going back or reloading the page does not lose it; and
  • remember choices you make on this page, such as turning performance monitoring off.

Most last only for your visit or a few hours. Staying signed in lasts until you sign out, or for up to about a year, and your basket is kept until you order or clear it. You can block these cookies in your browser, but then you will not be able to sign in or order.

Performance monitoring

We use a performance monitoring service that measures how quickly pages load and records errors in your browser, so we can find and fix problems. It records the pages you visit, load times, errors, and your browser and device type, under a random identifier for the visit. It is not linked to your account or your name, and the data is stored in the UK.

We rely on the exemption in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations for collecting statistical information to improve a service, and on our legitimate interest in running a reliable service. You can turn it off below. The setting applies to this site in this browser: tokeat.com and each restaurant’s ordering website keep their own, so turn it off on each site you use.

Other companies’ cookies

Some pages use services from other companies, which may set their own cookies under their own policies: our payment provider on the checkout page and the restaurant sign-up form, to take payments securely and prevent fraud; a security service on the sign-in, sign-up and contact forms, to check that you are not a bot and to protect the site from attack; and a map provider, where a restaurant shows its location on a map.

Controlling cookies

Your browser lets you see and delete cookies and stored data, and block them. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in and ordering from working.
